Privacy Policy

Chivigo NVR Viewer collects zero personal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-ins, and no external servers.

What the app talks to

Your recorder on your local network, and nothing else. Your video footage never leaves your local network unless you share a kept clip yourself. The app never alters your recorder's configuration or deletes recordings. (Exception: On Dahua recorders, PTZ controls move cameras and save preset positions only when explicitly triggered by you.)

What stays on your Mac

Your recorder's network address and username are saved locally. Passwords are stored securely in the macOS Keychain. Bookmarks, tags and notes are stored in the app on your Mac, and kept clips in a folder you choose. All of this stays on your Mac until you manually delete it.

What we never do

  • No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers.
  • No crash reporting sent anywhere by the app.
  • Nothing uploaded in the background, ever.

Two things you can send us

A recorder report. If we haven't seen your recorder model yet, the app can tell us about it. It writes a short email in your own mail app, with the make, model and what the recorder can do. Serial numbers, addresses and camera names are left out. You read it and decide whether to send it.

A diagnostics file. Off unless you turn it on. It stays on your Mac, holds no passwords or video, and is cleaned the same way. It goes nowhere unless you send it yourself.

Buying the Pro Version

All purchases are handled entirely and securely by Apple's App Store.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

If this changes

If any future update changes how data is handled, this privacy policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated prior to release.
